The memorial also serves as a tribute to those who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks on our nation on September 11, 2001.

The two towers represent the World Trade Center upheld by Guam's iconic latte stone to signify the strength of our island people in memorializing those who lost their lives in New York.

The trees are renditions of Eastern Hemlock, the state tree of Pennsylvania memorializing those who lost their lives in that fateful crash.

The shape of the Pentagon is embodied around the Rotary International logo representing our brothers and sisters who perished in that fateful crash as well.

The doves of peace hover over the memorial symbolizing our continuous quest for peace on Guam and all over the world for humanity.
